Shared Minivan Transfer
One Seat, One Fare, Daily Departures
Shared minivans are how most travellers move between Palawan's towns: an air-conditioned van, a professional driver, a scheduled departure and a price per seat rather than per vehicle. You book only the seats you need, the van fills up around you, and the fare per person stays the same whether you are travelling alone or as a pair.
The Routes We Run
- Puerto Princesa to El Nido and El Nido to Puerto Princesa — the long north-south run, from around ₱850 per person.
- Puerto Princesa to Port Barton and Port Barton to Puerto Princesa — from around ₱850 per person.
- Port Barton to El Nido from around ₱900 per person, and El Nido to Port Barton from around ₱950 per person.
What the Day Actually Looks Like
On the Puerto Princesa to El Nido run, departures start at 6:00 AM and continue through the day until 7:30 PM. Pickup covers hotels in the city proper, hotels within 15 km of it and Puerto Princesa International Airport; the van sets you down at El Nido Bus Terminal. Budget about five hours on the road, including a rest stop partway for restrooms and snacks — the stop is in the itinerary, the meal is not in the fare. Between El Nido and Port Barton, vans leave at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM and the run takes three and a half to four hours, terminal to terminal.
Shared Seat or Private Van?
A shared seat is the better buy for solo travellers, couples and anyone happy to travel on somebody else's clock. Once you are a family or a group of four or more — or you land at an hour no scheduled van serves — compare a private van transfer: the whole vehicle, door to door, departing when you say. If the Underground River is on your list anyway, the transfer-with-tour combos fold the UNESCO river cruise into the drive instead of costing you a separate day.
Good to Know
- Be in the lobby or at the terminal fifteen minutes before pickup — vans run to a manifest.
- One piece of luggage per passenger is the standard allowance; mention surfboards or dive bags when you book.
- Arrival times move with traffic, roadworks and weather, so leave a buffer before a flight.
- Cancellation windows differ by route — each listing page states its own.
