Planning your time in El Nido
El Nido is the end of the road north: 5–6 hours by van from Puerto Princesa, about 3 from Port Barton, or a short flight into Lio Airport (every way to get here). Three or four nights is the usual stay — enough for two boat days, a beach day and a spare day for the weather.
What to book
The four standard island hopping tours each cover a different corner of Bacuit Bay: Tour A for the lagoons, Tour B for caves and the sandbar, Tour C for hidden beaches and Tour D for Cadlao's beaches — which to book and which to skip. Joining boats are the budget option; private boats set their own pace. On land, the Nacpan Beach and waterfalls tour fills a day off the water. Heading back south, the airport timing guide tells you which van makes your flight.
