You leave El Nido after breakfast and sleep in Sabang, with the Underground River seen on the afternoon you arrive. Meet the driver at El Nido Bus Terminal at 6:00 AM for about four hours of road south to Sabang, where a light snack is included on arrival around 10:00 AM. The private boat tour of the cave runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, lunch at a local restaurant follows, and from 1:30 PM you are free to walk the beach or the forest trails. At 3:00 PM the van takes you to your hotel near Sabang Beach or Atremaru Jungle Retreat for check-in by 4:00 PM.
This is the slow version of the river for people heading south along the corridor. The plain private van from El Nido to Sabang covers the same four to five hours and drops you at the hotel with nothing arranged; the round-trip tour from Puerto Princesa means reaching the city first and coming back up the spur road the next day. Here the cave, permit, fees, guide, lunch, snack and bottled water are in the one fare, the van is your group's alone, and you wake up on the beach after the day tours have gone.
Bags stay with the driver while you are on the water and go to your hotel at check-in, so pack a waterproof bag for the boat. Hotel pickup in El Nido is not part of this listing, so meet at the bus terminal or the pickup point you chose at booking. Accommodation in Sabang is not included. Minimum age is six; pregnant travellers and anyone with a serious medical condition should check with a doctor first.
